How to use recordar in the preterite

The preterite is regular, without the stem change: recordé, recordaste, recordó, recordamos, recordaron. Use it for the moment something came back to you (de pronto recordé que...) or for a specific reminder: le recordé la cita. Recordamos is identical in the present and the preterite, so look for time markers like ayer or de pronto. Note the accents on recordé and recordó.
