How to use resultar in the imperfect
The imperfect is regular: resultaba, resultaban. It describes how things seemed or kept turning out over a period of time in the past: el trabajo me resultaba aburrido. It also appears in stories, where resultaba que... introduces a background fact. Switch to the preterite when you mean the final outcome rather than an ongoing impression.
