How to use empezar in the conditional
The conditional of empezar is regular: empezaría, empezarías, empezaría, empezaríamos, empezarían. Use it for advice ("Yo empezaría por el presupuesto") and hypotheticals: "Si tuviera dinero, empezaría un negocio." It also reports past plans: "Dijo que empezaría el lunes." It is a very natural way to suggest priorities in a meeting.

If I had savings, I'd start my own business.
