How to use servir in the present
In the present, servir changes e to i in four forms: sirvo, sirves, sirve, sirven, but servimos. The most common use is not about food at all: no sirve means 'it doesn't work' or 'it's no good', and ¿para qué sirve? asks what something is for. In restaurants, servimos desayunos means 'we serve breakfast'. ¿Te sirve? is a quick way to ask 'does that work for you?' when you suggest a time or a solution.
