How to use mantener in the present subjunctive
The present subjunctive is built on the yo form mantengo: mantenga, mantengas, mantengamos, mantengan. Use it after advice and requests (te recomiendo que mantengas la calma), after para que, and in medical or formal instructions: es importante que mantenga el reposo. Mantengamos means 'let's keep', as in mantengamos el contacto. Never use mantiena; the subjunctive always has the g.

Mantengamos esta conversación entre nosotros.
