How to use pedir in the present
In the present, pedir changes e to i in all forms except nosotros and vosotros: pido, pides, pide, pedimos, piden. Use it for ordering (siempre pido lo mismo), for requests, and in the very common te pido que + subjunctive, a direct but polite way to ask someone to do something. In a restaurant, ¿qué pides? means 'what are you getting?'.
Examples

What are you getting? I want the tacos al pastor.

Please let me know if anything changes.
